Joy Green

Instructional Designer & IT Specialist, DFAS; Co-chair GLTS Programming, Membership Engagement, FGDLA BOD

Joy currently works in the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) organization as an instructional designer, performance improvement specialist, and project manager. In this capacity, Joy has managed enterprise wide eLearning projects, served as the Action Officer and project manager for the Organizational Assessment Survey, coordinated, produced and presented webinars, and workshops for over 13,000 personnel, and has administered the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and supporting websites.

Joy brings a unique skill set to her projects. She has a background in usability and human centered design as a former Web/Interactive Design and Development Consultant. Joy is especially fond of her time as an adjunct faculty member, exploring creative ways to make learning ‘stick’ and motivating the reluctant learner.

Joy has recently completed a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Performance Technology. As a freelancer, Joy enjoys working with non-profit organizations to provide web presence and technology training. Joy’s strong desire is to use her skills to help others develop science literacy, critical thinking skills, and collaborative community building. Joy has served on the Board of Directors with the Federal Government Distance Learning Association (FGDLA) since 2012. When Joy isn’t working, she can be found in her vegetable and herb gardens or re-discovering the world with her two sons.
